The gallery
Theiler Art Gallery is an art gallery in beautiful lakeside Brienz, Bernese Oberland. In a renovated, original house with an old arbor and wooden ceilings we exhibit contemporary art and are specialized in Zimbabwean Shona stone sculptures and paintings. For years we have been supporting African artists and presenting their artworks in our gallery and at exhibitions. We are also always interested in suitable projects with artists from Switzerland, with the aim of bringing different cultures closer together.
A few words about
Our team
Jean and Franz Theiler own a gallery of stone sculptures from Zimbabwe. Jean Theiler is originally from Zimbabwe. Her husband, Franz Theiler, was a physicist and didactician at the University of Education FHNW. For years they have been collecting works of art by African artists, importing them to Switzerland and presenting them in their gallery in Brienz, via the Internet or at exhibitions.
